Keep all roof, sidewalks and driveways clear of ice and snow

Preventing frozen pipes:

• Insulate pipes
• Leave cupboards open to circulate warm air
• When away from home for extended times:
  • Shut off water
  • Drain faucets and toilets
  • Have responsible person check residence

Proper maintenance of furnace and wood stoves:

• Service furnace annually
• Replace filter annually
• Check for carbon monoxide
• Clean chimney at least once a year, more if used often
• Be sure of properly approved installation of wood stove
• Be sure venting and chimney connections are properly done

In the event of a claim:

• Stop further damage
• Call SVIC to report
• Get written estimate with breakdown for labor and repairs
• Provide estimates to company
• Claim representative will contact you, if any questions
• Check will be sent upon settlement of claim
