About The Company

Late in 1877 a small group of Sauquoit area farmers came together to find a more affordable way to protect and insure their property. It would take them a few months to organize the Sauquoit Valley Farmers Association on February 21st 1878. Fast forward 145 years and one name change and our company is still much like it was at its inception. A local company rooted in the communities that we serve.

Our company’s philosophy of establishing strong long term relationships with customers has been the key to our continued success. Diversifying from our initial farm fire policy offerings we now offer: Farmowners, Homeowners, Seasonal Homeowners, Manufactured Homeowners, Landlords, Tenant Homeowners, Inland Marine, and Dwelling Fire Policies.

As a direct writer, Sauquoit Valley writes and services its own policies. Working locally in Oneida, Herkimer, Otsego, Madison and Chenango counties, allows SVIC to offer modern coverages with the traditional hand shake approach to customer service.
